The Dig
Chestnut · History: earliest civilisations (the Indus Valley) · Geography: a region beyond the UK · Book 1 of a series
Four children. One new family. A secret written in a language nobody can read.
Zac and Layla's mum and Rhys and Elsie's dad met on a dig in India. Now the new family is heading back there for the summer, to the ruins of a city built 4,500 years ago, and none of the four children is speaking to the others. Then a stone seal, carved with writing nobody in the world can read, vanishes from the dig, and the children see who took it. With their new friend Ishaan, they have to stop the thieves before the seal is sold to the highest bidder.
