The puddle was deep. The mud was deeper.

On the way to school, Jack jumps in the biggest puddle on the lane, and the mud grabs his wellie and will not let go. With one foot in a sock and one in a boot, Jack has to hop, pull and shout for help before the bell rings. And when the wellie finally pops out, something is living in it.
